The premier destination in the Umpqua Valley, Wildlife Safari is a 600 acre drive-thru animal park. We recommend planning 2-4 hours for your trip to the safari, longer for an extreme animal enthusiast.

It takes approximately 5 minutes via well marked country roads to reach the Wildlife Safari from Wildlife Inn. There are hundreds of animals in free range from around the world. These animals live a life of luxury, their health and quality of life being a top priority for the park. They offer:

  • Intimate animal experiences for all, including the mobility challenged
  • Opportunities to hand feed select animals
  • Hands-on experiences at the petting zoo
  • Seasonal bottle feeding of infants
  • Food for humans too!
  • You can contact the Wildlife Safari directly at 541-679-6761 to inquire about private animal encounters

Umpqua Valley Wine Trail

Content courtesy of Umpqua Valley Wineries
Here in the Umpqua Valley, we celebrate the pioneering spirit of our family owners, tranquil beauty of our region and abundant recreation available for all to enjoy. Founded in 1969, we are proud to be celebrating the 49th anniversary of our winegrowing region.

Our winegrowing history dates back to the 1880’s when German immigrants planted the first wine grape vineyard in the Valley. Today, we are home to 23 wineries — 22 of which are family owned and operated, over 40 different wine varieties, and the start of many treasured memories you’ll create while exploring our region. Click on our wine tour map to plan your visit.

Umpqua Wilderness Adventures

Toketee Falls

Toketee Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in all of Oregon, renowned far and wide for the graceful columnar basalt formation framing the two-stepped falls. The North Umpqua River has carved a sinuous gorge out of the lava flow, resulting in a waterfall of 113 feet in height – a 28 foot upper tier which plunges into a pool flanked by a deep alcove, followed by an 85 foot plunge into a large pool.

Toketee Falls is a 0.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Glide, Oregon that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

Umpqua Hot Springs

Umpqua Hot Springs Trail gains 127 feet over a 0.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Glide, Oregon that features hot springs and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Swiftwater Steelhead & Salmon Fishing

One of our favorite Handicap Accessible fishing holes!

Located at the western boundary of the North Umpqua Trail and Wild & Scenic River, the Swiftwater area is a popular fishing spot for steelhead trout and salmon. Fly fishing only regulations are in effect 1/4 mile upstream and extend for 33 miles to the Soda Springs Powerhouse.
